HELLO THOMASONIANS!

 

 

 

It has been approximately five months since we met at our Christmas luncheon get-together.  You have given us so many nice compliments and we greatly appreciate them.  “Keep em” coming.

 

BEREAVEMENTS:

 

 

 

‌We wish we could give you a lot of cheery news, but unfortunately, much has happened and we need your help.  In the past three months your Thomasonian Club has lost two of its hard working and dedicated board members.

 

On February 3, 2008, Duane Mousty, a member of the board and husband of our co-treasurer, Virginia Mousty, passed away.  Duane was a graduate of Aero Tech Mechanical and a dedicated server of the Thomasonian Club.  He took part in all the discussions of the planning of all our get-togethers.  Duane was a willing volunteer where help was needed.   If you recall, Duane was the “Santa” at our Christmas gathering and he was the gentleman to step forward to put on the “hat clothes” and pass out the candy canes.  This was one of his famous traits, as he took the opportunity to perform and put smiles on many faces.  His willingness to serve and give of himself will be greatly missed by all, as well as, his greetings and smiling face.

 

On April 25, 2008, our president and go-getter, Gennie Warren, passed away.  Gennie was a one of a kind, who served as president of the Thomasonians for better than a year.  Her duties were not limited to what she was doing for the Thomasonians by being president.  Because of what Gennie did, along with her husband, Jerry, a number of our officers were spared extra work.  Gennie took care of our membership mailing list and kept it updated.  Updating the identification tags was another responsibility.  The Warrens started and kept up the Thomasonian Web Site.  The 50/50 drawings kept them active at the get-togethers.  Gennie wrote, designed, and typed this letter vigorously.  She took it to the printer, picked it up, and got it to our mailers.  Gennie kept on top of our bereavement list and notified the club officers on funeral arrangements.  How can we replace that ambition and dedication to the Thomasonian Club?  Gennie worked hard for all of you and that is how she knew all of you.

 

Three other great Thomasonian supporters have also gone to their eternal rest in the past four months:

 

Frank Zukowski                        - Husband of Betty, Class of ‘56

Lenny Gielniak                        - Class of ‘41

Jerry Palutis                        - Class of ’53

 

God bless their souls and may they rest in peace, Amen.

The 50/50 winners, in December are unavailable at this time.  We hope that all the various winners were well pleased.

 

If you did not have an opportunity to pay your dues for 2008, please send to Joann Gronkiewicz, 54831 Cambridge, Shelby Township, MI 48315 or to Virginia Mousty, 52190 Jacqueline Court, Macomb, MI  48042.  Dues can also be included and mailed in with your dinner reservation.
